Atlas Music Publishing is looking to hire an experienced (mid to senior level) Creative based in Los Angeles.
Qualifications of Ideal Candidate:
- At least 5 years working at a publisher, PRO, record label or other related position with proven success in that role
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Extensive experience in working with songwriters in the pop and/or pop-urban space with a track record of discovering, signing, developing and nurturing successful songwriters
- Broad experience in a&r, development, music production, and/or management
- Proven ability to find and develop new talent as well as sign established songwriters, and ability to help build and maintain successful careers for them
- Create and oversee creative and productive collaborative environments
- Ability to help create hits with songwriters and producers on a consistent basis
- High-level contributor, self-motivated, someone who can make a significant impact
- High level of integrity, work ethic, communication, project management, and teamwork skills
- Ability to travel, at times extensively and/or on short notice
- Extensive network within all levels of developing music, including managers, labels, lawyers, songwriters, and producers
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and an ability to prioritize
- Ability handle multiple activities simultaneously and professionally while always maintaining the highest regard for songwriters, clients, and colleagues
- Negotiating skills
- Knowledge and experience with project/departmental budgeting/forecasting
- Ability to work with an unparalleled team
- Commercial awareness of the market, new music trends, music business development, products, and challenges
The Job:
- Responsible for setting up and scheduling collaborations for Atlas Music writers, with a focus on designated roster and out of town Atlas writers who travel to Los Angeles
- Scouting and signing high caliber talent to the company, including up and coming writers/artist as well as established writers
- Maintain and grow contacts with labels, managers, lawyers, etc to keep abreast of upcoming albums and projects
- Negotiating song splits and collecting necessary information for copyright purposes
- Provide constructive feedback to Atlas writers
- Develop strong relationships and constantly interact with producers, writers, artists, management, and label a&r’s to regularly bring in new talent relationships
- Negotiate songwriting contracts and work in tandem with legal team
