Apple Music – Head of Content Strategy, Planning and Production (US)

Apple’s fast-growing global Apple Music business seeks an experienced Content Strategy, Planning and Production leader for its global Editorial & Content team. The successful applicant will report to the Senior Director of the division, and oversee the editorial strategy and implementation of content initiatives, artist/album projects, Apple-branded original content and values-based work from scoping, briefing and co-ordination across the organization.  The successful applicant will be a natural communicator, with an extremely keen eye for detail and a passion for building creative, innovative and deeply integrated editorial and content plans across big cross-functional teams, while also project managing complex editorial initiatives.

  • The person in this role must have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to bring ideas and plans together; being able to reconcile different creative points of view as well as ensuring that each stakeholder is invested
  • Both verbal and written communication skills are essential, with a track record of leading projects
  • Deep connection to the arts, tech, & media landscape, and experience working closely with creative teams
  • A proven track record of idea-generation, problem-solving and concept-creation
  • Ability to translate customer engagement data into editorial insights and learnings
  • Must have strong presentation skills – both in creating presentations and delivering them
  • Ability to plan, manage and host large global calls
  • Proven track record in working on complex, global, large-scale, and time-critical projects
  • Natural networker with the ability to build strong ties with both internal and external partners
  • Strong understanding of, and empathy with, the Apple brand and products
  • This individual will need to have been exposed to multiple digital businesses and have a level of comfort and understanding of the user experience

Description
  • The Content Strategy, Planning and Production Lead for Apple Music will provide a combination of both strategic content direction as well as more functional project management and production for the global editorial and content business
  • Working alongside the creative teams, the Content Strategy, Planning and Production leader will facilitate cohesive creative plans, develop launch and engagement strategies and ensure seamless execution
  • This role oversees the synchronization and narrative harmony across Apple Music, Apple Music Radio and off platform channels
  • Working closely with Corporate Comms and Marketing teams, the individual in this role will work to develop clear communication plans for all major initiatives
  • Will provide cross-functional support, communication and key stakeholder coordination across all global editorial projects, including providing support to the regions on local editorial initiatives
Education & Experience
  • 10+ years proven experience in content strategy
