Anonymous – Jr. Publicist (UK)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Junior Publicist who has previous experience in the entertainment industry, specifically in the music field.

This role is responsible for promoting and generating media coverage for musicians, bands, and music events. Strong candidates will have experience working in a comparable role and will be based in the London area.


OBJECTIVES
  • Developing and implementing public relations strategies to promote musicians, bands, and music events
  • Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other members of the media
  • Securing media placements, such as interviews, feature stories, and reviews, in print, online, and broadcast outlets
  • Writing press releases, pitches, and other promotional materials
  • Coordinating and overseeing press events, such as album release parties and concerts
  • Monitoring and analyzing media coverage to assess the effectiveness of PR efforts
  • Managing and updating the artist’s social media accounts
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as marketing and management, to ensure cohesive and effective promotion of the artist
  • Attending concerts and other events to network with industry professionals and gather information on new artists and trends
  • Staying current with industry trends and news to ensure that the artist stays relevant in the media

REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience in a comparable role
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience working with talent in a previous position
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills are essential
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple tasks with strict deadlines
  • Ability to keep track of many ongoing projects with strong attention to detail and excellent follow through
  • In addition to the usual hours, you will be required to take calls and respond to emails outside of office hours so flexibility is key
  • A passion for music
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or a related field is preferred
