Absolute Label Services – Physical Supply Chain Manager (UK)

Absolute Label Services is currently seeking a focussed and motivated Physical Supply Chain Manager to join the Label Management team, based in our Wimbledon Village headquarters, and working closely with various in-house departments and eclectic roster of labels and artists, across a large variety of genres.

Reporting to the Head of Label Operations, your main role will be managing the physical side of the business, playing a pivotal role in building the foundations of creative & commercially successful physical retail campaigns from start to finish. You’ll work to deliver successful day-to-day production, manufacturing, and distribution activities including D2C as well as striving to continually improve our ability to support our artists, bringing their music and releases to life. You will be able to multitask, be organised and well time-kept, whilst working to deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ worth of experience working in a similar role and a passion for music and providing clients with a first-class service.


WHAT DOES THE PHYSICAL SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER AT ABSOLUTE DO
  • Working closely alongside Absolute’s Label Management department and clients, establishing optimal operational and production lead times and deadlines.
  • Provide detailed tracking, review, and approvals are followed, ultimately providing efficient management of capacity and resource planning for the delivery of our physical release schedule.
  • Work with our D2C partners including comprehensive stock management processes and product handling. Including but not limited to overseeing inventory levels and optimising stock flow.
  • Overseeing management of our physical catalogue inventory and distributor stock availability; develop advanced methods for stock forecasting and catalogue management.
  • Oversee and respond to client stock queries.
  • Working with Absolute clients and external teams to source manufacturing spec information ahead of relevant physical sales timelines.
  • Assist the Label Management department in delivering eye-catching sales notes for our commercial physical retail partners & distribution networks, via our sales note template & subsequent delivery of sales notes on a weekly basis to various physical sales teams.
  • Liaise with the Finance and Reporting Departments on all levels of budgets, charges, and profitability.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of physical retail marketing campaigns & marketing pack bookings and raising corresponding POs for labels to pay.
  • Working alongside Absolute’s physical distribution partners, highlighting priority records where suitable & delivering updates where relevant to stimulate further orders of physical formats across an album campaign.
  • Building physical products via our in-house delivery portal, Project Create – also helping our labels and partners with the platform where required.
  • Collect and analyse sales/market data via our backend access to the OCC.
  • Making bespoke manufacturing quotes for our clients and getting them approved ahead of confirmation of physical production process, managing costs and invoicing for production, manufacturing, and distribution, always working to optimise profitability and reduce expenditure.
  • Nurturing and maintaining relationships with our manufacturing suppliers, which may include semi-regular meetings about new specs, pricing & keeping up to date with manufacturing trends.
  • Providing support to Label Managers in launching pre-order campaigns for physical album formats & communicating these with our clients, including requesting amends to links, and their part in overall album campaign smart link marketing.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE WE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience managing physical release production and physical manufacturing within a record label.
  • Expertise in production, release planning, capacity management, project/timeline/deadlines management, workflow/process design, and operational best practices.
  • Thorough understanding of the vinyl manufacturing process and print production.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and developing new relationships.
  • Extremely organised and able to multitask and prioritise when required.
  • Expertise managing, tracking, and monitoring complex projects or workstreams; ability to manage urgency and prioritise.
  • A passion for music and understanding of its current trends within pop culture.
  • Experience managing a large active physical catalogue alongside new releases.
  • An ‘I can fix that’ attitude.

  • This is a full-time role. Typical office hours are Monday to Thursday 09:30 – 18:00 and on Fridays, we finish at 17:00.
