3000 Years – Who we are

We are a dynamic new music publisher with a small, experienced team of music industry professionals based in Manchester and London. We are signing incredible musical talent in order to support their creative ambitions and launch them onto the world stage. We are looking to do things differently as far as our approach to the artists we sign but do the basics the same way they should always be done – with care, knowledge and attention to detail.

We are looking to expand our team in Manchester with a Senior Administrator/ Office Manager (although the office is virtual a lot of the time) to support our management, A&R and synch teams with financial, administrative and organisational tasks on a day-to-day basis.


Person spec

The person we are looking for is confident in dealing with a range of people and business matters, mega-organised with attention to detail, systems-driven, flexible, wants to be part of the team and understand the company, someone who wants to grow with the company.


Job description

The role will be to coordinate and manage the administrative elements of the business alongside the current management team – overseeing financial systems and contracts, liaising with different business partners, sub publishers and supporting the senior management with financial and HR admin as well as support with one-off creative projects. The role is new and the specific duties will develop with the company but will always include:.

Job duties:

  • Supporting internal staff to ensure the smooth running of the business.
  • Overseeing financial systems and business contracts.
  • Managing all payment info from writers, suppliers and customers.
  • Liaising with external partners i.e. writers and management and sub-publisher network re: copyright registrations.
  • Liaising with internal staff.
  • Liaising with accountants.
  • Reviewing systems and setting up new processes.
  • Booking meeting rooms and travel.
  • Organising training.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Self-starter but able to work collaboratively.
  • Highly organised and efficient.
  • Solutions oriented.
  • Flexible.
  • Good communicator (in writing and in person).
  • Proven track record of multi person, multi task organisation in a creative/ freelance environment and in a virtual office space.
  • Used to dealing with contracts and financial documents – invoicing, VAT etc.
  • Experience of setting up and implementing new working processes.

Preferable:

  • Book-keeping experience.
  • Knowledge of music copyright/ publishing.
  • Knowledge of copyright law.
  • Creative thinker.

The lowdown:

Competitive salary dependent on experience and subject to review as the company and the role grows.

Hours to be negotiated but we are imagining it to be around 15 hours/ week and these hours must be across 4 days of the working week (Mon-Fri) as a minimum. Will include regular face to face meetings in Manchester so someone based in the northwest. Can be worked flexibly but must be majority of time within business hours.

Hours will have the potential to increase as the company grows – and it is growing quite quickly!
