Jeremy Vuernick promoted to President of A&R at Capitol Music Group

Jeremy Vuernick has been promoted to President of A&R for Capitol Music Group (CMG).

Vuernick will report to CMG Chair & CEO Michelle Jubelirer.

Jubelirer took on the Chair & CEO role in December 2021, and one of her first big moves of this year was to name Arjun Pulijal as President of CMG in January.

Now, promoted to President of A&R for Capitol Music Group, Vuernick will lead the company’s A&R team, sign and develop artists for the company, and oversee recording projects for new and established artists spanning the company’s portfolio of labels.

He will work closely with Jubelirer as a key member of her executive team to set the creative direction of the company, says Capitol.

Vuernick is based in Hollywood, within the company’s Capitol Records Tower.

Vuernick’s promotion comes after nearly a decade as an A&R executive at CMG.

He joined the label group’s Astralwerks in 2013, and served in senior capacities at that label and at Capitol Records, before being promoted to Executive Vice President of A&R for CMG in 2019.

During his tenure at CMG, Vuernick signed and developed Halsey, who has achieved multiple Platinum albums and a number of worldwide hits since 2015.

Her 2021 album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, has been nominated for a 2022 Grammy in the category of Best Alternative Album.

Vuernick also inked numerous deals with electronic music producer Marshmello, A&R’d Paul McCartney’s Grammy-nominated McCartney III Imagined remix album, and signed the Grammy-nominated, Atlanta-based artist and producer TM88.

He has also worked closely with Katy Perry, Alesso, and with indie label 10k Projects on developing artist Aidan Bissett.

Before joining Astralwerks in 2013, Vuernick worked at the New York based independent label Ultra Music, where he served in A&R, marketing and sales capacities.
