Warner Chappell Music (WCM), the publishing arm of Warner Music Group, has promoted Jenni Pfaff to Executive Vice President, Strategy, Integration, and Operations.

In her new capacity, Pfaff will report directly to WCM’s Co-Chairs, Guy Moot, who also serves as CEO, and Carianne Marshall, the COO, WCM announced Wednesday (April 10).

Pfaff’s role will be multifaceted, encompassing the oversight of the company’s global strategy and the spearheading of its annual goal-setting efforts. A key part of her responsibility will be to lead WCM’s newly established Business Intelligence division, which was formed to enhance data-driven decision-making processes to better support the company’s songwriters.

Additionally, Pfaff will continue her collaboration with WMG’s Tech department and senior leadership to further refine the company’s technology portfolio. This initiative is geared towards the development of more user-friendly systems, said WCM.

“For over five years, I’ve focused on understanding the intricacies of this company and meeting with our songwriters and their teams to create a strategy where our people and business are in sync.”

Since joining WCM in March 2019, Pfaff has ascended through the ranks, moving from her initial role as People Strategy leader to overseeing global business strategy as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Strategic Integration and Operations. Her work has helped optimize WCM’s organizational structure and leverage data analytics, technology, and automation to enhance global efficiencies, the company said.

Her background in business psychology has also enabled her to contribute to the company’s culture and operational priorities, including the launch of WCM’s Vision and Values, WCM added.

“Jenni has been on this journey with us from the beginning, helping transform how we operate as a global team so we can continue to do great work for our songwriters and their incredible songs,” said Guy Moot and Carianne Marshall, Co-Chairs at Warner Chappell Music.

“She is deeply committed to Warner Chappell and has spearheaded initiatives that allow us to be more collaborative. Technology, business, and data go hand-in-hand, and the work that we’re doing with Robert [Kyncl] and team will help shape the future of music publishing.”

Before her tenure at WCM, Pfaff founded pfaff HR and held positions at organizations such as PwC, Activision Blizzard, and Northrop Grumman. Pfaff’s influence in the music industry was recognized in 2022 when she was featured in Billboard’s ‘Women in Music Top Executives’ list.

Pfaff, reflecting on her journey with WCM, said, “For over five years, I’ve focused on understanding the intricacies of this company and meeting with our songwriters and their teams to create a strategy where our people and business are in sync. Our technology serves as our foundation, while our strategy ensures everything works cohesively on a global scale.”

“With support from Guy, Carianne, and an amazing team, I’m committed to continuing to evolve our products to better serve our songwriters in an ever-changing media landscape.”

Pfaff’s promotion marks the latest executive move at WCM after the company appointed Lisa Li as Managing Director of WCM China and Mar Ma as Director, A&R, last month.

In February, Lina Tebbs was named WCM’s  Director of UK Production Music, and in January, Lázaro Hernández was promoted to SVP, A&R, US Latin and Latin America, while Natascha Augustin was elevated to Managing Director of Warner Chappell Music Germany.
