Imagem signs deal with Brett Gurewitz’s Mothership

Imagem Publishing Group has signed a long-term publishing agreement representing the catalogues of Mothership Music Publishing outside of North America.

Mothership Music Publishing is the new JV between veteran publisher Lionel Conway and Brett Gurewitz, owner of the fabled Epitaph/Anti Records label, and founding member of iconic punk rockers Bad Religion.

One of Mothership’s first signings is Brighton-based The Architects who just debuted in the Top 20 album charts in both the UK and US.

The deal also includes the FIG catalogue (home of Bad Religion) and the Songs and Stories catalogue (home of The Hives), which Imagem have successfully represented since 2011.

Andre de Raaff, Imagem Group CEO commented, “Lionel is one of the most unique and successful music publishers of all time. Brett is unique for his continued success and philosophy as a true independent. I’ve enjoyed working with both Lionel and Brett in the past and we have shared great success together. I’m convinced that this new combination of Lionel and Brett will make them even more successful than before as music publishers, and I trust that we can contribute to this through our unique team and worldwide infrastructure.”

Lionel Conway, Co-President Mothership Music Publishing commented, “We are excited to have Imagem represent our catalogues outside of North America. We have long admired what Andre de Raaff and his talented team have achieved in music publishing. Both Imagem and Mothership share the same independent ethos – this gives us a unique flexibility to try things different, especially when it comes to developing new talent”.
