Imagem Music promotes Leo Chantzaras to Senior International A&R Manager

Independent publiser Imagem Music has promoted Leo Chantzaras from Senior A&R Manager to Senior International A&R Manager.

The new role, effective immediately, will see Chantzaras (pictured) working on all Imagem signed artists on an international level reporting to Imagem Music UK MD, Kim Frankiewicz.

Chantzaras will continue his domestic A&R role in Germany where he continues to report into Imagem Music Germany MD Jens-Markus Wegener.

Chantzaras, who joined Imagem in 2014, has signed writers/artists including Erik Nyholm (Finland’s most successful pop writer), and German rapper Fler (two No.1 German albums) through his global network of contacts.

Prior to joining Imagem, he enjoyed a successful career as a songwriter himself, with 25 platinum and gold releases in Europe and Asia under the guise of his artist name, Freakchild.

After a stint as marketing director for Black Rock Studios (One Republic, Justin Bieber), he also co-founded the prestigious Black Rock Songwriting Camp on the Greek island of Santorini.

“As an A&R, LEO has every angle covered. He sees things from a manager’s view, an artist’s view and as a songwriter.”

“Having Leo work on an international level really demonstrates the joined up thinking we have across the group which will be of even greater benefit to all artists across our roster”.

Jens Markus-Wegener, Imagem Music Germany MD commented, “For many years I have known Leo for being extremely successful with independent A&R work. So I was more than happy that I could convince him to join Imagem Germany´s A&R team when I had the chance to hire him.

“No wonder that all of my international colleagues enthusiastically supported Leo´s promotion to become Senior International A&R Manager.”

Leo Chantzaras, Imagem Music Germany Senior International A&R Manager commented, “I am truly honoured to be stepping into this new role – I’ve never been one confined by boxes and boundaries so this feels like such a natural step forward.

“As an artist-centric business, at the heart of all our decisions is about what’s best for our writers and artists. As a writer myself this is exactly what I always wanted from a publisher. Jens, Kim and André [de Raaff, Imagem Group CEO] have created a truly progressive publishing company, and really am looking forward to this exciting new chapter.”
