The ‘new’ HMV, under Hilco’s management, has launched a new ticketing operation in partnership with SeeTickets.
Hilco CEO Paul McGowan told MBW that ticketing sales would be focused on the UK “for now”.
He added: “HMV aims to be a hub for entertainment product of all kinds so it makes sense for us to team up with people such as SeeTickets to broaden our range into live entertainment ticketing.

“SeeTickets also manage the ticketing systems for some of our HMVLive events across the country and we have been very happy with the partnership to date.”
Hilco, under McGowan’s leadership, is credited with directing a dramatic turnaround in HMV’s fortunes since the retailer went into administration in January, 2013.
The company revealed last month that HMV’s like-for-like sales of CDs rose by 1.5% during the whole of 2014. Sales of vinyl albums leapt 170% to the highest levels since the mid-1990s.
Total sales for HMV in 2014 reached £365.7m.Music Business Worldwide
