UK-based music rights company Bella Figura Music has acquired a “significant portion” of the catalog belonging to London-based indie label, Jeepster Recordings.

Bella Figura, founded by former BMG UK President Alexi Cory-Smith in 2022, says it has deployed nearly $160 million on music rights to date.

The firm’s latest acquisition follows its expansion into the US market in November 2025, with the appointment of veteran music executive Gary Gersh as Chairman.

Bella Figura also inked a global administration deal with Sony Music Publishing.

Most recently, according to a press release, the Jeepster Recordings deal encompasses “landmark releases” including Belle and Sebastian’s LPs If You’re Feeling Sinister and The Boy with the Arab Strap, Snow Patrol’s early album When It’s All Over We Still Have to Clean Up, and The Gentle Waves’ Swansong for You.

“We’re proud to become the steward of this catalog and to support its long-term legacy through thoughtful, active rights management.”

The press release champions Jeepster Recordings – which was founded in London in 1995 by Stefano D’Andrea and Mark Jones – as a “defining independent label of the UK’s mid-’90s indie wave, built to champion literate, emotionally rich indie pop and rock”.

“Jeepster helped bring truly distinctive records into the world. Music that has continued to resonate with listeners decades on,” said Alexi Cory-Smith, CEO & Founder of Bella Figura Music.

“We’re proud to become the steward of this catalog and to support its long-term legacy through thoughtful, active rights management.”

Bella Figura CEO Cory-Smith described Bella Figura as “a music company for the digital age” upon launching the firm three years ago.

The firm was launched alongside Co-Founder Neelesh Prabhu, who previously led the global investments division of BMG.

Other Bella Figura deals include the acquisition of London-headquartered independent RAK Publishing in April 2024.

Bella Figura closed “a significant equity funding round” in April 2024 to fund its acquisitions.

It secured investments from private equity firm Freshstream, Canadian pension fund OPTrust, a strategic family office and a Dutch private equity investor.Music Business Worldwide
