Harry Styles to make investment in new £350m arena in Manchester, UK

Venue development, advisory and investment company Oak View Group (OVG) has named Harry Styles as an investor in its new Co-op Live music venue in Manchester, UK.

The venue, which the company claims will be “the most sustainable arena in Europe” , in addition to featuring the largest arena capacity (23,500) in the UK, was given planning permission last month and is set to open in 2023.

According to OVG, the Co-op Live arena represents a £350 million private investment in Manchester and will generate 3,500 jobs during construction.

Co-op Live, which will be located on the Etihad Campus, will support a further 1,000 jobs during operation.

In addition to his investment, Styles will also be actively involved in the development of the project in his hometown of Manchester.

Styles will work alongside OVG’s UK and international team, led by global live entertainment industry exec Tim Leiweke, on delivering “world-leading experiences” at Co-op Live, with a particular focus on “fans, unique premium and hospitality areas and artist spaces”.

“I was drawn to this project on every level, from the opportunities it brings, to the contribution it will make to the city, and most importantly, that it will allow even more live music to thrive in Manchester.”
