Grammy-winning producer Tim Kelley named Head of A&R at The SRG-ILS Group

Tim Kelley, one half of the Grammy Award-winning production duo The Funktwons (aka Tim & Bob), has been named Head of A&R at The SRG-ILS Group.

Kelley’s collaborations across his 25-year career of songwriting and production have resulted in half a billion album sales.

He has worked with artists including Destiny’s Child, Chris Brown, Brian McKnight, Case, 112, Dallas Austin, Monica, Tamar Braxton, Joe, Deborah Cox, Babyface, Nas, The Isley Brothers, Musiq Soulchild, Earth Wind & Fire, The Black Eyed Peas, Jaimie Foxx, Jennifer Lopez, Usher and Tyrese.

Commercial career highlights include the Boyz II Men album ‘II’ – currently the biggest-selling LP by an R&B group in US history – as  well as TLC’s ‘CrazySexyCool’ and Sisqo’s ‘The Thong Song’.

Claude Villani, President/CEO of The SRG-ILS Group, said: “There are very few people I’ve met who live up to their credits. Tim Kelley not only lives up to it, he surpasses it.

“Tim has helped a number of labels build to greatness with his expertise and tireless effort and energy. We could not be more excited to welcome this architect of production, sound, and vision to The SRG-ILS Group.”

“In today’s industry, Claude has figured out a way to benefit all parts of the process and get folks paid. I am looking forward to this new chapter with SRG-ILS.”

The SRG-ILS Group was formed when two North American companies – The SoNo Recording Group and The ILS Group – merged earlier this year.

Before the merger, The SoNo Recording Group was a label with a roster including singer/songwriter Gino Vannelli, R&B star Brian McKnight and award-winning vocal group Take 6.

Founded in 2014 by veteran Canadian music executive Dominique Zgarka, The ILS Group was a label services and distribution company – and  home to artists as Dada Life, Rachael Sage, The Hip Abduction, Randy Bachman, David Clayton-Thomas, Fred Eaglesmith, and Emily Kinney.

The newly-formed SRG-ILS Group offers a range of artist/label services in addition to a publishing operation and is headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut.Music Business Worldwide
