Global music biz leaders join MBW’s Advisory Board

Music Business Worldwide (MBW) has added two more senior executive figures to its Advisory Board.

The MBW Advisory Board have agreed to provide feedback on the direction of MBW and its content, and to keep the publication informed of the key issues affecting the global music industry.

The Board is comprised of established senior executives from all corners of the worldwide business, including the likes of Daniel Glass (Glassnote), Hartwig Masuch (BMG), Kenny Gates ([PIAS]) Michael Gudinski (Mushroom), Richard Griffiths (Modest!), Simon Robson (Warner), Willard Ahdritz (Kobalt) and more besides.

Adding their names to the Board are Times Music COO Mandar Thakur and INgrooves’ recently-promoted EVP, General Manager Amy Dietz.

Mandar Thakur, is the Chief Operating Officer of Times Music, one of the leading music entertainment companies in the Indian sub-continent and a division of India’s largest diversified media group – Bennett Coleman & Co.Ltd./ The Times Of India group.

Thakur previously ran his own Digital Music and Media Consultancy. Prior to this he was part of the senior management at Soundbuzz, then Asia/India’s largest Online and Mobile Music distribution company.

On joining the MBW Board, Thakur said: “In a frenzied music industry news environment, MBW – with its topical, solid information, analysis and relevant global news delivered in a simple, informative and highly effective mobile-friendly  format – is like a breath of fresh air. As EVP, General Manager of INgrooves Music Group, Amy Dietz oversees day-to-day operations of one of the world’s most successful independent music distributors.

A veteran player in the independent music distribution space, Dietz’s expertise in both traditional and emerging music revenue streams makes her a perfect fit for INgrooves, which has invested heavily in proprietary distribution, analytics & reporting technology for the modern record business.

Amy came to INgrooves from Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), where she rose from a regional advertising manager to Vice President of Label and Artist Development.
