Epitaph Records promotes Matt McGreevey and Hope Selevan

Matt McGreevey has been named General Manager of Epitaph and its sister label Anti-, and Hope Selevan has been appointed VP of Marketing and Digital Strategy.

McGreevey and Selevan each previously held the position of Director of Marketing.

Their promotions follow the recent departure of Dave Hansen from the position of General Manager for Epitaph and Anti-.

Under the title of SVP of Business Development, Hansen will continue to represent Epitaph as the newly-appointed Chairman of the board for Merlin, the global digital rights agency for the world’s independent label sector.

As General Manager, McGreevey will oversee Epitaph and Anti-’s daily operations and contribute to the marketing of the labels’ releases.

In his six-plus years as director of marketing for Epitaph and Anti-, he implemented strategic marketing programs and campaigns for such artists as Neko Case, Wilco, Bring Me The Horizon, Rancid, and A Day To Remember.

Since joining the staff as an intern in 2000, McGreevey has also served as a marketing assistant, head of internet marketing, and product manager.

“I’d like to thank Brett Gurewitz for giving me this opportunity and to acknowledge the amazing job that Dave Hansen, my predecessor, has done for the last 21 years,” said McGreevey. “I have incredibly large shoes to fill and am honoured to be part of such an amazing label.”

Arriving at Epitaph/Anti- in July 2015, Selevan worked on strategic marketing plans for artists including Glen Hansard, Mavis Staples, Tinariwen, and Dr. Dog.

In her new role as vice president of marketing and digital strategy for the label, Selevan will continue to create and oversee marketing campaigns, in addition to developing digital strategy and best practices for DSPs (including Apple, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, and Google).

Selevan was previously the director of marketing for New West Records, where she also served as lead product manager for artists such as Tom Morello, John Hiatt, and Richard Thompson.

Epitaph Records is an independent music label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz. It launched sister label Anti- in 1999.Music Business Worldwide
