ElevenLabs officially launches ElevenMusic as AI music creation and streaming platform with licensed remix model

AI audio startup ElevenLabs has officially launched ElevenMusic, a platform that combines music streaming and discovery with AI-powered creation and remix tools.

The platform, which ElevenLabs describes as an “artist-first” experience, launches with more than 4,000 indie and emerging artists and runs on a licensed music model that the company says “prioritizes artist rights, attribution, and community”.

The broader launch this week of ElevenLabs’ music service, which the startup says “connects listening, remixing, and original creation in a single system,” follows the launch of the standalone ElevenMusic app on the App Store on April 1.

ElevenLabs says that its AI-powered ElevenMusic platform “gives artists a direct path to monetization while enabling fans to actively participate in the music itself”.

ElevenLabs first announced ElevenMusic around eight months ago, describing it as a platform able to generate studio-grade music from natural language prompts. The company said at the time that it had struck partnerships with independent digital licensing agency Merlin and publisher Kobalt.

On Thursday (April 30), Believe confirmed it had signed a new licensing agreement with ElevenLabs, while simultaneously announcing that it and TuneCore would block distribution of AI-generated tracks from unlicensed platforms.

The official launch arrives alongside Eleven Album Vol. 2, an eight-track album curated for the app and designed to be remixed by users. The album features Danger Twins, Justin Love, Kes, Lei Swan, Poison Ivory, Stefano, and Skye Louise.

It was executive produced by Roahn “Firstborn” Hylton, a Grammy-nominated producer whose credits include work with Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, Ne-Yo, and Flo Rida.

Through ElevenMusic, users can shift genre or tempo, reinterpret a song into something new, or start from scratch using a lyric, melody, or mood as a starting point. ElevenLabs says this turns listeners into collaborators.

The service is described as a platform “where listeners can not only stream tracks but also remix and build on top of them”.

Amy Stroup of Danger Twins, who features on Eleven Album Vol. 2, said: “What excites me most about ElevenMusic is how closely it mirrors the actual creative process.

“You start with a lyric or production idea, and instead of sitting on it, you can actually hear it take shape and invite others in on the process. Beyond that, there are so many creative tools to connect with fans to support what you create in ways I’ve never seen before.”

Derek Cournoyer, Music Strategy Lead at ElevenLabs, said: “We’re building with the artist and songwriter communities, not around them. Everything about ElevenMusic, from our fully licensed music model to our commercial approach, is designed with that principle at heart.

“We’re excited to give fans a more active way to experience the music they love, and create a new gateway into DJing.”

Kevin Jonas Sr., Founder and Chairman of Jonas Group Entertainment, who manages Danger Twins and Amy Stroup, said: “What matters most to me is giving artists a real connection with their audience, while still maintaining ownership and rights.

“Fans want to feel like they’re part of the music, the songwriters, and the artists. ElevenMusic gives them a way in, turning a song into something people can step into, not just listen to. That kind of engagement builds something deeper, and for artists looking to grow a lasting audience, that connection goes a long way.”

Roahn Hylton, who executive produced Eleven Album Vol. 2, said: “Eleven Album Vol. 2 is a strong example of what a healthy collaboration between AI and artists can look like. What drew me in was the intention to build with creators.

“Real artists made these songs, and real singers performed the vocals. The platform is designed to keep ownership with artists and writers while creating new ways to monetize. That’s the kind of AI ecosystem we need, and the standard I’m excited to help build.”

The release follows Eleven Album Vol. 1, which came out in January 2026 and celebrated artists like Art Garfunkel and Liza Minnelli. Vol. 2 takes a different angle, spotlighting songwriters and producers who have contributed to major records but worked behind the scenes.

ElevenLabs says it has paid out more than $11 million to creators through its voice library and is now extending a similar monetization model to music.

ElevenLabs launched publicly in January 2023. Its $500 million Series D round in February was led by Sequoia Capital, with partner Andrew Reed joining the ElevenLabs board. Investors Andreessen Horowitz and ICONIQ significantly increased their stakes, while Lightspeed Venture Partners, Evantic Capital, and BOND joined as new investors.

In September 2025, ElevenLabs secured strategic investment from chip maker NVIDIA, the world’s most valuable company by market cap, as previously reported by MBW.

ElevenLabs previously raised a $180 million Series C funding round in January 2025, valuing it at $3.3 billion. Last fall, it launched a $100 million tender offer at a valuation of $6.6 billion to give its employees “an opportunity for liquidity”.Music Business Worldwide
