Downtown promotes Lisa Hauptman to Global Head of People

Downtown has promoted Lisa Hauptman to the newly-created position of Global Head of People.

In her new role, Hauptman will spearhead talent development and recruitment for Downtown’s rapidly growing teams across its Downtown Music Publishing and Songtrust businesses.

Since joining the publisher as Executive Director of Operations in 2015, Hauptman has overseen recruitment.

During that time, the company has expanded from 44 to 110 full-time employees worldwide, and added three new offices in Tokyo, Paris, and Sydney.

Downtown currently has over a dozen job openings available across a variety of different segments including technology, licensing, marketing, and business affairs.

Recent hires have joined from companies including Bank of Tokyo, Betterment, Grey Group, Kickstarter, The Lab, and Venmo.

Reporting to Andrew Bergman, Chief Operating Officer at Downtown, Hauptman will continue to oversee human resource operations and lead the company’s internship program.

“Lisa is extremely passionate about our company and the team. She has and will continue to play a critical role in the company’s talent development and recruitment.”

Prior to Downtown, Hauptman spent nearly two decades at music law firm Davis Shapiro Lewit Grabel Leven Granderson & Blake, LLP, where she helped grow the company from two employees to a 45-person multi-city organization.
