Dolly Parton to launch the ‘Dollyverse’, a Web3 experience offering ‘limited-edition NFTs’

Dolly Parton has become the latest superstar artist to enter the lucrative world of NFTs.

Parton has partnered with FOX Entertainment’s Blockchain Creative Labs (BCL) to launch the Dollyverse, described in a press release as an “audience-centric Web3 experience”.

The Dollyverse project says it will release an “exclusive selection of official and certified Dolly NFT collectibles”.

Parton joins a growing list of superstar artists to release NFTs, including the likes of Bob Dylan.

One of the most prominent in the space however is Snoop Dogg, who recently-announced plans to turn his newly-acquired Death Row Records into an ‘NFT label‘, and is also involved in various other NFT projects.

Collectables on offer in the ‘Dollyverse’ This includes limited-edition NFTs of her forthcoming Run, Rose, Run album, and a limited series of Dolly-inspired NFT artwork, for purchase during and after SXSW.

There will also be a livestream event taking place at Dolly’s first-ever SXSW Festival appearance on March 18.

 

In-person attendees at Dolly’s performance will be able to claim a free NFT, while fans streaming the event will be also able to receive tokens authenticating their participation.

The unveiling of the Dollyverse is tied into to the release of Dolly Parton’s original novel, Run, Rose, Run, co-written with author James Patterson, and its companion music album, Dolly.
