Def Leppard sign global administration deal with Sony/ATV

Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed a global administration agreement with rock icons Def Leppard, one of the world’s most popular and best-selling music artists of all time.

The UK rock band has sold more than 100 million records worldwide with two blockbuster albums, Pyromania and Hysteria, certified RIAA diamond.

The signing comes on the heels of the group’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, as well as the headline-making news announcing Def Leppard’s massive 2020 North American stadium concert tour.

Def Leppard – Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick “Sav” Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) – have amassed 2.5 billion streams since releasing their music digitally only one year ago.

Their albums charted in the iTunes Top 10 in more than 30 countries, including Hysteria at No.3 in the US, and No.5 in the UK.

Def Leppard had the No.1, No.2 and No.3 records on the US catalog albums chart.

Over the course of their career the band has produced a series of classic albums.

“Working closely with Brian Monaco and the Sony/ATV team, we are thrilled to take their powerhouse catalog into the next millennium and beyond.”

The band’s 2015 self-titled studio album debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums and Top Independent Albums charts.

The album also took the No.5 spot on Billboard’s Top Current Albums and No.10 spot on the Top 200, as well as claiming 15 Top 10 debuts around the world.
