Dani Deahl promoted to Vice President of Creator Policy & Corporate Affairs at Caldecott Music Group

Singapore-headquartered global music company Caldecott Music Group has promoted Dani Deahl to Vice President of Creator Policy & Corporate Affairs.

Deahl will oversee policy strategy across Caldecott’s three divisions: BandLab Technologies (BandLab, ReverbNation, Cakewalk, Airbit), NME Networks (NME, Guitar.com, MusicTech), and Vista Musical Instruments (Swee Lee, Heritage Guitars, Harmony, MONO, and more).

The role expands Deahl’s responsibilities beyond her current position as Head of Communications & Creator Insights at BandLab Technologies, which she joined in 2022, Caldecott Music said on Tuesday (January 20).

Following her latest appointment, Deahl will retain her role as Head of Communications & Creator Insights at BandLab, in addition to her expanded role.

Deahl brings a decade of experience at the intersection of music technology and advocacy. A recording artist herself, she’s participated in industry discussions on creator protections and helped develop BandLab’s approach to generative AI tools.

Before joining BandLab, Deahl served as Editorial Director at Output where she led content strategy development with artists like Lucky Daye, Richie Souf, and Krewella.

Prior to her time at Output, Deahl led The Verge’s coverage of consumer music tech, writing features on topics like music creation trends, AI, emerging genres, and creator platforms.

She has also worked in editorial roles at NYLON, DJ Mag, and other publications, spanning over 10 years.

“Caldecott Music Group sits at the centre of how music is created, distributed, and experienced around the world.”

Commenting on her appointment, Deahl said: “Caldecott Music Group sits at the centre of how music is created, distributed, and experienced around the world.

“I’m proud to take on this role at a company with that level of reach and responsibility, and to bring an artist’s perspective into a global organisation built for creators.”

Meng Kuok, Caldecott MusiC Group

Meng Kuok, CEO & Co-Founder of Caldecott Music Group, said: “Dani brings a unique combination of strategic clarity and creator-first thinking to everything she does.

“She’s been instrumental in how we engage with fast-moving issues like AI and creator rights, not just as a company, but as part of broader industry conversations. This new role reflects the scope of her impact and the trust we place in her to help guide how we show up in the world, for artists, partners and the industry at large.”

The appointment comes a year after Caldecott Music promoted David Nam Le to Managing Director of Vista Musical Instruments, and appointed Jon Bahr as BandLab’s Senior Advisor for Artist & Label Services.

Caldecott Music Group was formed as a parent company in 2021 to house BandLab, Vista Musical, and NME Networks.

In April 2024, BandLab unit ReverbNation partnered with Warner Chappell Music to bring music publishing services to the platform’s songwriters, artists, and digital creators. In October 2023, BandLab partnered with  Universal Music Group on what they called “an expansive, industry-first strategic relationship concentrated on artificial intelligence.”
