Curve Royalty Systems, the London-based music technology company, today, announced two new hires in its North American and UK divisions.

Based in Toronto, Mhairi Palmer has been appointed as Director of North American Sales, and joins from her previous role as Head of Anthem Entertainment’s Royalties and Administration department.

She will report directly to Richard Leach, General Manager of Curve Royalty Systems, and will work closely with the company’s US Client Support team, with a remit to accelerate the growth of Curve’s brand and client base across North America.

Curve’s North American push began in November 2021 with the opening of a new office in Los Angeles and the recruitment of Sam Spainhower as Head of Operations.

Palmer started her career at Re:Sound in 2005 and has held a number of rights management roles in both recorded music and publishing companies including Sony Music Canada, True North Records, and most recently, Anthem Entertainment (formerly ole Media Management).

During her time with Anthem Entertainment, Palmer managed the publishing catalogs for the likes of Timbaland, Rush and Jim Vallance, among others, before moving over to the recorded music side of the business, where she built and established the Anthem Records’ Royalties and Administration department.

“I could not be more honoured and excited to join this incredibly innovative, knowledgeable and nimble team at Curve Royalty Systems.”

Britt Timmerman joins Curve Royalty Systems from her previous position at Kobalt and also reports to Richard Leach.

Timmerman will be focused on growing Curve’s publishing client base and supporting them in their use of the platform.

After completing her Media & Entertainment Management study in Rotterdam, Britt worked for Dutch collection society BUMA/STEMRA in their Event Licensing team.

When a role for a Dutch-speaking Copyright position came up at Kobalt Music Publishing, she left the Netherlands and moved to the UK, working in the company’s copyright division in catalog-related royalties projects.

After having previously worked at a society and publisher, I’m looking forward to learning more about yet another side of the music industry and working with this dedicated and passionate team.
