Cooking Vinyl signs raft of artists including Deap Vally and The King Blues

London based independent record label Cooking Vinyl has signed four new artists, and revealed a number of releases in the works for this year.

After touring the US and Europe, Californian hard rock outfit Deap Vally (pictured) have signed to Cooking Vinyl for their second album, which will be released later this year.

It follows their 2013 debut, Sistrionix, which came out via UMG‘s Island Records in the UK.

Also on Cooking Vinyl’s release schedule for 2016 is music from Skye Edwards and Ross Godfrey, founder members of Morcheeba.

The duo have produced a new album as SKYE  |  ROSSfeaturing a mix of influences from trip hop, blues and downtempo soul. It is expected in late 2016, and they will be touring in the UK and internationally.

Area 11, meanwhile, are a four-piece rock band from Bristol. Thanks to a loyal following on social media, they have sold out shows around the UK and their new album, Modern Synthesis, will be released on July 1st.

Lastly, London based The King Blues formed in 2004 and have released five albums to date. Their yet-to-be-titled sixth album will be released in October on Cooking Vinyl.

In other news, Amanda Palmer has extended her existing agreement with Cooking Vinyl to include North America and Australia.

A new project from Palmer and her 72-year-old father Jack, a semi-professional choral singer, will be released in the summer.

You Got Me Singing is a collection of 12 cover versions of classic and traditional songs spanning different eras, which was recorded over a seven-day period last year.

As well as those named above, Cooking Vinyl represents artists including Richard Ashcroft, The Prodigy, Billy Bragg, Alison Moyet, Teddy Thompson & Kelly Jones, Dolores O’Riordan, Marilyn Manson, Lissie and Royksopp, amongst others.
