Cooking Vinyl invests in production music and sync specialist Motus Music

UK-based production music company, Motus Music, has teamed up with London-based indie Cooking Vinyl – and become part of the Cooking Vinyl Group.

Since launching in 2017 inception, Motus has built a catalog of over 90,000 tracks, and represents more than 40 production music labels from around the world.

The firm’s music has been licensed by UK TV shows and multiple ad campaigns – most notably for high-end fashion brand Farigamo as well as a Warbutons ad campaign fronted by British comedian Peter Kay.

Based in London and spearheaded by Ray Pagden, Motus has also launched new services available to current and future clients, including custom music packages for TV shows and a music rights admin service for TV production companies.

“To now officially be a part of The Cooking Vinyl Group, a little over a year after launching the company, is a dream come true.”

Ray Pagden, Motus Music

Ray Pagden, CEO of Motus Music commented: “When I set up Motus Music it was a long-term goal to find a business partner to help grow the company. We’ve had a lot of interest and I’ve turned down a few offers along the way.

“The most important thing for me was to find the right person to partner with. On first meeting Martin we had an in-depth discussion about the synergies between our businesses and discussed a number of ideas and possibilities. I left that meeting with much more ambitious plans and knew that Martin was the business partner I had been holding out for.”

He added: “To now officially be a part of The Cooking Vinyl Group, a little over a year after launching the company, is a dream come true. Martin and myself have very different backgrounds in the music industry and I think our combined experience will lead to great things for Motus. I can’t wait to move forward with our plans and continuing to develop and grow within the group.”

“Ray has paid his dues and really knows his sh*t! The synergies of combining two great sync teams and catalogues will greatly benefit Cooking Vinyl Publishing and Motus.”

Martin Goldschmidt, Cooking Vinyl

“We are very pleased Cooking Vinyl passed the audition and are excited to be in bed together and looking forward to a bright future.”
