Los Angeles-headquartered Sirius XM Holdings is a US audio entertainment and broadcasting company created in 2008 following the merger of Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio.

SiriusXM and subsidiary Pandora‘s properties reach more than 150 million listeners across all categories of digital audio – music, sports, talk, and podcasts.

SiriusXM has previously acquired companies such as Stitcher and Simplecast, alongside ad tech company AdsWizz, to improve its podcast hosting, production, distribution, analytics and monetization capabilities.

SiriusXM, through Sirius XM Canada Holdings, Inc., also offers satellite radio and audio entertainment in Canada.


SiriusXM Financial results

SiriusXM Holdings generated revenue of $2.025 billion in Q3 2020, up 1% year-over-year, according to the company’s Q3 2020 operating and financial results (for the thee months to end of October).

Some $1.46bn of that revenue was generated from SiriusXM subscriber revenue, while Pandora subscriber revenue contributed $132 million to this total (see below).



The company’s net income increased 11% to $272 million in Q3 2020 from, $246m during the same period the prior year.

SiriusXM’s net income for the 9 months to end of October 2020 was $808 million, up 17% on the same nine-month period in 2019.


Subscriber numbers

SiriusXM reported to have 30.48 million self pay subscribers as of September 30 2020, up 3% year-over-year, while subsidiary Pandora was reported to have had 58.58m Monthly Active Users as of September 30, 2020 a 7% decline year-over-year.
