BBC Radio 1 is the BBC’s flagship new music radio station in the United Kingdom.

Radio 1 plays music of various genres including pop, hip-hop, R&B, rock, electronic and more.

Its sister station BBC 1Xtra, focuses solely on black contemporary music, including hip-hop and R&B.

According to RAJAR figures, BBC Radio 1 reached an audience of 8.9 million weekly listeners in Q1 2020.
