Capitol Records UK launches dance label, Lift Me Up Records

Capitol Records UK has launched a new dance music label, Lift Me Up Records.

The label is in partnership with Belfast DJ and A&R Connor Coates.

Coates currently presents a dance radio show on Cool FM, and also hosts a slot on BBC Radio 1.

He will work closely with EMI co-president Jo Charrington, who was promoted to the role in 2017.

The imprint will focus on crossover dance records and will be a home to established and up-and-coming producers, says Capitol.

Coates also has plans to expand the Lift Me Up brand with club nights, merchandise and special events.

In the US, Capitol recently inked a partnership with Top Dawg Entertainment to sign up-and-coming artist Doechii.

Capitol’s partnership with TDE comes three months after Michelle Jubelirer took on the role of Capitol Music Group Chair & CEO (in December 2021).

“We are delighted to welcome Connor and his label to Capitol UK.”
