Bucks Music Group inks deal with Independent Label Alliance

Bucks Music Group has signed a worldwide admin deal with Texas-based music company Independent Label Alliance (ILA)

ILA positions itself an artist-friendly label, publisher and label services company which focuses on artist development.

It was founded by CEO Jacqueline Scripps and President David Pennington at SXSW in 2016, and opened a UK office at London’s Tileyard Studios in 2017 with Richard Hannan appointed as EVP to run the operation.

The ILA publishing roster currently consists of British rock quartet HVMM, Americana artist Arkansas Dave and Hard Rock outfit Father Sky.

Richard Hannan said: “Austin, Texas is experiencing a sea-change within its music scene from ‘live’ to ‘business’, and ILA is at the forefront of that change.

“We are creating a more professional music-business infrastructure to allow great talent access to global opportunities, which until recently was controlled from within the major US music cities like Nashville, LA and NYC.

“Our companies share a similar philosophy and we look forward to a successful partnership both here in the UK and across the world.”

“Independence, heritage, and legacy are the core values that make Bucks Music Group the perfect choice for a new music publishing offer for ILA artists and musicians. Jacqueline Scripps’s family heritage dates back to 1879 as independent publishers. It therefore made sense to set-up a relationship with a company that continues to uphold similar principals.”

Bucks Music Group MD Simon Platz (pictured) said: “We’re really happy to be working with ILA. Our companies share a similar philosophy and we look forward to a successful partnership both here in the UK and across the world.”

Jacqueline Scripps has more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment and music industries with expertise focused on developing recording artists, fashion designers, and industry executives in their business affairs.

David Pennington started his career as a professional recording and touring artist.

He says his perspective on both the business and creative issues faced by artists, songwriters, publishers and independent record labels was the catalyst for ILA as an artist-friendly music services provider.Music Business Worldwide
