Brandra Ringo named EVP of A&R at Quality Control Music, Wayno Clark joins as VP of A&R

Quality Control Music has named Brandra Ringo and Wayno Clark as EVP of A&R and VP of A&R, respectively.

Brandra Ringo began her career as an intern for Nelly’s management team.

Since then, she has worked for Def Jam and Motown Records, Warner Chappell and UMPG.

At UMPG, she worked for seven years under the director mentorship of current Motown Records Chairman and CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam, who took on the role in 2021.

In 2020 and 2021, Ringo was named as one of Billboard’s Hip Hop and R&B Power Players, as well as to its Women In Music list.

Wanyo Clark, meanwhile, brings with him experience across the music and entertainment industries, and first broke into the industry by working in the mailroom of the Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella building.

He landed an internship at Roc-A-Fella and worked there as an assistant A&R for 3 years, before founding a management company, Triangle Offense.

Since then, Clark has worked as a host on Complex’s Everyday Struggle program, before moving to a position at Asylum Records (Warner) where he assisted with Sada Baby and helped put together Whole Lotta Chops Remix (feat. Nicki Minaj with Derrick Milano).

In his short time as VP of A&R, Clark has already signed QC’s newest act – Detroit rapper Baby Money.

Clark also currently works with Ethiopia Habtemariam at Motown, where he holds the title of Senior Director of A&R.

Ringo and Clark join a raft of recent hires and promotions at Quality Control.

In December 2021, Lauren Walsh was named Executive Vice President of Branding and Marketing at Solid Foundation Management, the management services arm of Quality Control Music.

This followed the October additions of Simone Mitchell, as President of Quality Control Music, Tamika Howard as Executive VP and Amber Mitchell, VP Artist Relations.
