A rendered vision of the renovated Lumina building
BMG will relocate its global headquarters to the top floor of the Lumina building in Berlin in early 2027.
The move puts BMG in the former Galeries Lafayette building at Friedrichstrasse 76-78, just two blocks from its current Berlin offices, according to a press release on Tuesday (January 13).
The company signed a lease with global real estate firm TishmanSpeyer, which oversees the renovation of the property designed by French architect JeanNouvel.
BMG CEO ThomasCoesfeld said: “Moving our headquarters to Lumina marks a significant milestone for BMG.
“This iconic Berlin building provides a prestigious, next-generation workspace that truly reflects our ways of working as a global music company with a strong commitment to Berlin. Lumina will foster an environment where our employees can thrive, boosting creativity and collaboration.”

The Lumina building features a glass facade and glass cones that fill the space with natural light. The renovation preserves the building’s original design while introducing a new use concept.
The project targets environmental and sustainability certifications including LEED, WELL, WiredScore, and Good Mobility.
Tenants will have access to a rooftop garden with views of Friedrichstrasse, a bicycle garage with changing facilities, and dedicated event spaces. Construction is scheduled to finish in the first quarter of 2027.
FlorianReiff, Senior Managing Director at Tishman Speyer, said: “We warmly welcome BMG to Lumina.
“This project exemplifies our commitment to creating dynamic ecosystems that offer thoughtful retail along with modern, sustainable, and well-curated workspaces in prime, well-connected locations — environments that also attract top talent.”
The relocation of BMG’s global HQ comes almost a year after the company launched a new brand identity — including a new symbol, updated color scheme, and redesigned website — as part of its BMG Next strategy.

The development also comes as BMG continues to expand. Last month, the company renewed and expanded its direct music publishing agreement with TikTok.
The expanded deal includes enhanced reporting and attribution standards for digital platforms, and provides BMG with additional data access to track how its catalog is used across TikTok’s platform.
In the first half of 2025, BMG reported a 4.4% YoY drop in organic revenue to EUR €424 million (USD $495 million), although its EBITDA margin jumped significantly to 28.7%, driven by what its parent Bertelsmann called a “strategic scaling back of lower-margin activities”.
The H1 2025 figures also reflect BMG’s continued M&A activity, having made 17acquisitions during the six-month period alone, pushing its total music rights investments since 2021 to EUR €1.2 billion ($1.4bn).
In H2 2025, BMG continued its acquisition spree, snapping up the catalog of Country music superstar Jason Aldean, along with the recorded catalogs and publishing rights of a music collection from what it calls a “cross-section” of 23artists and songwriters, in September for a total of $250 million.
