BMG has entered into a partnership with Stockholm-based artist management company Scandinavian Talent Management (STM).

The company says that the partnership falls in line with its “policy of deepening its relationship with the artist management community”.

STM, which specializes in music supervision, music publishing, and live events, in addition to artist management, has simultaneously announced that the company will launch the music event Falkfest in the Swedish city of Falkenberg in the summer of 2023 with Swedish singer-songwriter Miss Li as the headliner.

Launched in November 2022, STM’s roster includes Swedish rock-pop singer-songwriter and BMG artist Kristofer Greczula; actor Wilma Lidén, who is starting her music career.

It also includes British guitarist, songwriter and producer Chad Neale, who has played with Sting; Mando Diao bassist Carl-Johan ‘CeeJay’ Fogelklou; award-winning film writer and director Johan Brisinger, known for the films Suddenly and Among Us; composer and musician Per Störby Jutbring, who composed the soundtrack for Swedish television series Thunder in my Heart season two and the Oscar- and BAFTA-winning film Searching For Sugar Man; and Swedish junior world powerlifting champion Carl Johansson.

STM’s operations consist of four divisions: STM ARTIST MANAGEMENT, STM MUSIC SUPERVISION, STM MUSIC PUBLISHING, and STM LIVE.

In addition, STM offers music publishing services to its clients who are not yet working with an external music publisher.

STM MUSIC SUPERVISION and MUSIC PUBLISHING will be led by Hans Desmond, who brings extensive experience from previous positions at Warner Chappell and Scandinavian Songs. STM LIVE will host concerts in the Swedish city of Falkenberg.

“Over the last decades, Sweden has proven to be a flourishing market for music export with great success stories. We’re looking forward to expanding with STM in Europe.”

Albert Slendebroek, BMG

Albert Slendebroek, Managing Director Scandinavia at BMG, said: “BMG and STM are a perfect match! Both share the mission of helping artists to make the most out of their careers and, most importantly, they don’t work for us, we work for them as a service-oriented partner.

“Henrik Johansson is a great entrepreneur with a proven track record of building successful businesses. Over the last decades, Sweden has proven to be a flourishing market for music export with great success stories. We’re looking forward to expanding with STM in Europe.”

“We are delighted with BMG’s trust and are confident that we can create many synergies with their global resources and networks.”

Henrik Johansson, Founder and Managing Director of STM, said: “Artists have increasingly diverse careers, and the importance of a strong personal artist brand is becoming more and more important.

“With the launch of STM, our vision was to create opportunities for artists who are shaping pop culture in Scandinavia and beyond. And we are not limited to the music industry.

“We are delighted with BMG’s trust and are confident that we can create many synergies with their global resources and networks.”

Elsewhere at BMG, in September the company took a big step towards becoming a serious player in live entertainment in Germany, announcing that it has booked out one of Berlin’s most renowned theaters, the 1,600-seat Theater des Westens (TdW), every night until the end of 2024.

In January, BMG appointed Stefan Lehmkuhl, who the company calls “one of Germany’s most renowned bookers” to “mastermind” the concert and event program for the iconic venue.Music Business Worldwide
