BMG signs admin deal with Marco Mengoni publisher in Italy

BMG has signed an administration agreement with the publishing company of Italian star Marco Mengoni, who currently boasts Italy’s fastest-selling album of the year so far.

Mengoni’s company, No Comment Opificio Musicale S.r.l., holds rights in the artist’s hit catalogue and plans to invest in new, emerging talent.

Mengoni, 26, is one of Italy’s best-selling domestic singer-songwriters.

He rose to fame in 2009, after winning the third series of talent show The X Factor Italy.

In 2013 Mengoni won the 63rd Sanremo Music Festival with his song ‘L’essenziale’ and represented Italy in 2013’s Eurovision Song Contest, coming seventh.

In January, his third and latest album, Parole In Circolo, debuted at No.1 in the Italian official album charts. In six weeks it achieved Double Platinum status.

The first single ‘Guerriero’ also went straight to Number One in the official single charts and has reached 16 million views on YouTube.

The Parole in Circolo tour will start in May and sold out completely within a few weeks.
