BMG completes Famous and Virgin Music catalogue acquisitions

BMG has concluded the acquisition from Sony/ATV Music Publishing and EMI Music Publishing of music publishing catalogues, including worldwide rights in the Virgin Music publishing companies, Famous UK Music Publishing and selected current songwriters.

The copyrights include iconic songs by the likes of Kurt Cobain, Take That, Tears for Fears, Iggy Pop, Duffy, Mark Ronson, The Human League, Terence Trent D’Arby and The Kooks.

The acquisition has now been fully approved by the European Commission.

Earlier this month, BMG announced the closure of its acquisition of the Mute and Sanctuary catalogues of recordings.Music Business Worldwide
