BMG acquires classic Italian music publishing catalogue

BMG has fully acquired the publishing catalogue of Edizioni Musicali L’Alternativa SRL, including rights in numerous songs by renowned Italian singers Paolo Conte, Francesco Guccini and Vinicio Capossela.

Following the deal struck by BMG Italy, classic Italian songs like Paulo Conte’s  ‘Sotto le stelle del jazz’, ‘Come mi vuoi’, ‘Elisir’, ‘Spaccami il cuore’, ‘Alle prese con una verde Milonga’ and ‘Impermeabili’, Francesco Guccini’s ‘Vorrei’, ‘Quattro stracci’, ‘Bologna’ and ‘Autogrill’ and Capossela’s ‘Ballo di San Vito’, ‘Con una rosa’, ‘Che cos’è l’amor’ and ‘Maraja’ are now joining the BMG roster.

The L’Alternativa catalogue also contains compositions by Claudio Lolli, Zucchero, Ligabue, Lucio Dalla, and many more, as well as songs performed by Stadio, Patty Pravo, Malika Ayane, Caterina Caselli.

Edizioni Musicali l’Alternativa SRL was established in 1977 in Bologna by Francesco Guccini, Renzo Fantini, (manager of Francesco Guccini and Paolo Conte) and Gianfranco Barbieri, friend and consultant of Fantini and Conte.

The first signed artists were Francesco Guccini and Claudio Lolli, followed by Paolo Conte in 1984, and Vinicio Capossela in the Nineties.
