Big Loud Records has appointed Dusty Miller as President of Catalog Acquisitions.

In the new role, Miller will oversee the label’s strategy for sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring music catalogs and other music-related assets.

The move takes the Nashville-based company, home to Morgan Wallen, deeper into the catalog market as a buyer.

Miller has more than 25 years of experience in financial services and over 15 years in the music industry, according to Big Loud.

“This is an exciting day for Big Loud,” said Seth England, Partner and CEO. “As partners, we have long talked about developing a catalog acquisition component to our business.

“Dusty has spent many years on the financial side of the music catalog business and has proven to be an expert in his field.”

“What they’ve built at Big Loud is incredibly special, and I’m excited to be a part of where it goes from here.”

Before joining Big Loud, Miller was Founder and President of Miller Wealth Sports & Entertainment, a wealth management firm he launched in 2024.

He previously spent 13 years at Truist Bank, formerly SunTrust, advising clients across the sports and music industries.

His background also spans banking, lending, investment management, and financial planning, according to Big Loud.

Across his career, he has worked with artists, songwriters, producers, and executives, Big Loud said.

Big Loud has already been active in the catalog market.

The company sold a minority stake in Morgan Wallen‘s master recording catalog to Chord Music Partners in 2025, in a deal that MBW‘s sources valued at more than $200 million.

The transaction covered a substantial minority holding in Wallen‘s first three studio albums, MBW reported at the time.

The sale came ahead of the release of Wallen‘s fourth album, I’m The Problem.

Chord Music Partners counts Universal Music Group among its backers, after UMG paid $240 million for a 25.8% stake in the firm.

That investment valued Chord at $1.85 billion.

The label distributes its releases through Universal Music Group‘s Mercury Records/Republic, under a multi-year deal signed in 2024 that it has said keeps the company independent.

Alongside its recording business, Big Loud runs a music publishing arm.

It remains an investor in the distribution platform Stem.

The appointment follows a run of senior hires and promotions at Big Loud, which expanded its executive team in 2025 as it marked its tenth anniversary.

That reshuffle elevated three marketing executives and added three leaders across media, streaming, and global marketing.

Founded in 2015, Big Loud Records says it has generated more than 102 billion global on-demand streams, scored 37 No. 1 US country airplay hits, and landed three Billboard Hot 100 all-genre No. 1s.

The company also says its releases have earned more than 150 RIAA certifications.

The label’s roster includes Morgan Wallen, HARDY, ERNEST, and Lauren Alaina, among others.Music Business Worldwide
