Beyoncé signs deal with Warner Chappell

Warner/Chappell Music has signed a global deal with US superstar Beyoncé Knowles to administer her future songwriting, including her next album.

The deal follows the appointment of long-term ally ‘Big’ Jon Platt at Warner/Chappell earlier this year.

Since embarking on her solo career in 2002, Beyonce has sold more than 75 million solo records worldwide. Every solo album — Dangerously in Love (2003), B’Day (2006), I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008), and 4 (2011) — has reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

In 2010, Beyoncé broke the record for most Grammy awards received by a female artist in one night, taking home six. She has won 17 in her career so far.

“It’s an honor to join Warner/Chappell Music and to continue working with my friend Jon Platt,” said Beyoncé. “I trust his vision and admire his professionalism and I look forward to our partnership.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Beyoncé for many years now and I am always inspired by her drive, her creative vision and the breadth of her talent as a songwriter, performer and artist” said Jon Platt, President, Creative – North America, Warner/Chappell Music.

“Not only has she become a global phenomenon, she has helped re-define what it means to be an entertainment icon. Everyone at Warner/Chappell is honored to have the opportunity to serve this ground-breaking superstar, as she continues to evolve, growing her incredible catalog of songs and producing some truly extraordinary new music.”

As a businesswoman, Beyoncé is the owner and CEO of Parkwood Entertainment, an entertainment, production, management and brand marketing company.Music Business Worldwide
