The National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) has announced the top songwriters for Q3 2022, including the top artist-songwriter and top non-performing songwriter for the period.

During July, August and September, 2,341 Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum certifications were awarded.

Beyoncé was the top artist-songwriter overall with 60 certifications including the 9X Multi-Platinum Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), the 6X Multi-Platinum Drunk in Love and the 4X Multi-Platinum Run The World (Girls).

She is published by Sony Music Publishing.

The top non-performing songwriter was Southside with 14 certifications for hits with Future, Gucci Mane and Lil Wayne, among others, including the 4X Multi-Platinum Both and 3X Multi-Platinum Stick Talk.

In partnership with the RIAA’s Gold & Platinum Program, NMPA finds and certifies the songwriters and publishers of RIAA-certified singles.

RIAA counts both sales and on-demand streams towards its Gold (500,000), Platinum (1 million) and Multi-Platinum (2m+) thresholds.

Thousands of songwriters have been recognized since NMPA’s program began in 2007.
