Atlantic Records and Rockstar Games have announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack to the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series.
The album will be released on November 19, the same day as the game.
It contains 34 original tracks, six of which were issued as singles on Thursday (September 17).
Three of those six songs are Yung Lean’s That’s It, featuring Future and Metro Boomin; Travis Scott’s RHYNO, produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo; and Sexy Magic by CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy.
The other three are Morgan Wallen’s Last Thing You Need, Rauw Alejandro’s Macacoa 2000, and Keith Richards’ Bright Lights, Big City.
The 34 tracks capture “the electric energy of Grand Theft Auto VI’s world of Vice City and Leonida,” according to an official announcement, “with a genre-defying roster of the most exciting and preeminent artists in the world.”
Atlantic Records “has assembled a global roster of today’s most meaningful artists, curating wide-ranging original music that deepens the next chapter of the Grand Theft Auto universe,” the announcement added.
The record will arrive alongside what Rockstar describes as “the next evolution of the pioneering in-game radio stations, dynamic score, and musical touchpoints that anchor the series.”
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is available to pre-save on streaming services, with multiple vinyl and CD editions available to pre-order ahead of November 19.
Three of those editions are Atlantic Records exclusives: a limited-edition liquid-filled vinyl, a splatter edition vinyl, and a CD jewel case.
Retail-exclusive pressings will also be sold through Blood Records, Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Urban Outfitters, and independent record stores, each with its own vinyl design and poster.
Atlantic Records sits within Atlantic Music Group, the Warner Music Group-owned label group run by CEO Elliot Grainge.
In January, AMG promoted Kevin Weaver to the newly created role of President, Atlantic Music Group, with a remit covering “soundtracks, strategic partnerships and gaming initiatives, sync licensing, and brand alignments.”
Weaver’s soundtrack credits at the company include Barbie The Album, Twisters The Album, The Greatest Showman, and F1 The Album.
Atlantic said in January that projects produced and overseen by Weaver account for more than 50 million album-equivalent units sold worldwide and more than 65 billion audio and video streams.
Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, a date Take-Two Interactive set in November 2025 after two delays from an original target of fall 2025.
Rockstar Games says Grand Theft Auto V has sold-in over 230 million units, and that the Grand Theft Auto series has sold nearly 475 million units.
It was not the company’s first move into records: in 2021, Rockstar launched CircoLoco Records with the Ibiza dance music promoter.
“Music is fundamental to Rockstar Games – it’s part of everything we do,” Founder Sam Houser said at the time.
Houser started out in the music business, joining the post-room at BMG’s UK headquarters in 1990 and becoming Head of Development at BMG Interactive in the UK by 1996.
BMG then sold BMG Interactive – including all rights to the Grand Theft Auto franchise – to Take-Two Interactive in March 1998 for what Sam Houser has said was a total consideration of USD $9 million, as previously covered by MBW.Music Business Worldwide
