Online royalty marketplace Royalty Exchange has hired former ASCAP exec DeDe Burns for the newly created position of Director of Strategic Services.

Based in the firm’s Denver headquarters, Burns will play a key role in developing Royalty Exchange’s account management and customer service programs, as well as artist and industry relations.

She comes to the company after 10 years working in membership services and strategic operations at ASCAP, culminating in the position of VP of Global Member and Society Services.

While there, Burns modernized key areas of the organization’s distribution system, market research activities, and developed additional value-added membership services.

Earlier in her career, she served as a copyright administrator at Warner/Chappell Music Publishing, and is a former board member of the California Copyright Conference and member of the Association of Independent Music Publishers and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
