ASCAP appoints Ed Razzano as SVP, Administration Services

The American Society of Composer, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has hired Ed Razzano (pictured) as Senior Vice President, Administration Services.

He will lead operations and strategy for ASCAP’s royalty administration arm, Songwize, which processes and matches performances and pays royalties for music publisher clients in partnership with a broad range of digital music services, including Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google Play, Pandora and YouTube.

Razzano reports to ASCAP Chief Strategy & Digital Officer Nicholas Lehman.

Razzano has more than 20 years’ experience with music rights. He was formerly Vice President, Global Synch Operations and Systems for BMG Rights Management, where he was responsible for the company’s Songs.bmg portal and for overseeing and developing systems and operational protocols for BMG’s global synchronization operations for the advertising, film, TV and new media industries.

Prior to BMG, he was Vice President of Business Development for Ricall, an automated online music licensing platform.

He also spent four years with BMG Music Publishing, negotiating synchronization licenses for advertising and merchandising in the US and handling international clearance of BMG’s US repertoire for music in advertising campaigns around the world.
