Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You has hit No.1 on the Official UK Singles Chart for the first time since it was released 26 years ago.
All I want For Christmas Is You was streamed over 10.8 million times over the last seven days, making it the most streamed song in a week in 2020.
Since its release in 1994, the song has sold over 16 million copies worldwide making it not only the most successful Christmas song, but also one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited acquired a stake in the publishing of All I Want For Christmas is You on September 30, 2020 as part of the catalog of Walter Afanasieff, who co-wrote and co-produced the hit song with Mariah Carey.
Alongside the news of Carey’s UK No.1 achievement, Hipgnosis has revealed that it has sponsored the Nordoff Robbins Christmas Carol Service for 2020 alongside the London Stock Exchange, Open Exchange and SSE.
Hipgnosis Advisory Board member Nile Rodgers will host ‘The Stars Come Out To Sing At Christmas: A Virtual Christmas Concert With Songs, Carols And Festive Greetings’ which will stream globally on Tuesday December 15 at 7pm GMT.
The event will stream online via the London Stock Exchange website and Open Exchange, with free admission.
