Simon Dunmore, a longstanding figure in the dance music industry, has partnered with Armada Music to launch a new label, NBT Records, dedicated to ‘soulful’ dancefloor-oriented records.
The imprint is the result of a joint venture combining Dunmore’s A&R expertise with Armada Music’s global infrastructure in distribution, marketing, and promotion.
NBT Records will be based at Armada’s newly opened London creative hub, a 7,000-square-foot facility featuring state-of-the-art recording studios, A&R listening rooms, and office space.
“Songs have always been at the core of everything I love about dance culture. My objective is to fully immerse myself in the vibrant global soul scene that’s continually evolving, and to help champion the next generation of artists, singers, and songwriters.”

Commenting on the new partnership, Dunmore said: “Songs have always been at the core of everything I love about dance culture.
“My objective is to fully immerse myself in the vibrant global soul scene that’s continually evolving, and to help champion the next generation of artists, singers, and songwriters.
“Having known Maykel for over 25 years, I can say with confidence that he’s a true music man and that our values are aligned. Armada has consistently demonstrated its ability to deliver exceptional records, making it the perfect partner for this new venture.”
Maykel Piron, CEO and co-founder of Armada Music, added: “After more than two decades of knowing each other, it’s a true pleasure to finally partner with Simon – a visionary whose work I’ve long admired.
“I have great respect for Simon’s approach to creativity and business, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve by combining his ear with Armada’s passion and expertise.”
The first releases from NBT Records are expected in 2026.
The launch of NBT Records coincides with Armada Music’s strategic expansion efforts.
Through its BEAT Music Fund, which bills itself as “the world’s first dance music investment company,” Armada recently acquired the entire master rights catalog of Netherlands-headquartered Mixmash Records.
The catalog includes hits such as Show Me Love by Steve Angello and Laidback Luke feat. Robin S (169 million streams) and Turbulence by Steve Aoki and Laidback Luke feat. Lil Jon (40 million streams). The fund has also taken a significant stake in the catalog of DJ and producer Tiga, including tracks like Sunglasses at Night and Bugatti, which have collectively garnered over 33 million Spotify streams.Music Business Worldwide
