Ari Gelaw named Vice President, Creative at Sony Music Publishing

Ari Gelaw has been named Vice President, Creative, at Sony Music Publishing.

Based in the company’s New York office, she will report to Senior Vice President, Creative, Ian Holder, who took on the role in April 2021.

As Vice President, Creative, Gelaw will be responsible for advancing songwriter development across Sony Music Publishing’s US roster.

She will also foster creative collaboration with global territories and support songwriter discovery initiatives.

Most recently, Gelaw was Director of A&R at Universal Music Publishing Group. During her time at the company, she signed and worked with talent including Megan Thee Stallion and Coi Leray.

She also signed and worked alongside producers such as Earl on the Beat, known for producing Act Up by City Girls, and Speaker Bangerz, who produced Heart on Ice by Rod Wave.

She also spent two years at Atlantic Records, working in its Urban A&R department.

Sony Music Publishing recently inked publishing deals with Brazilian pop star Anitta, Italian band Måneskin, and signed a global agreement with the estate of singer-songwriter Gregg Allman to administer its catalog of songs.Music Business Worldwide
