A&R scouting platform Instrumental strikes deal with UK’s Official Charts Company

Digital A&R scouting platform Instrumental has struck a deal with the UK’s Official Charts Company to ‘enrich data sets and enhance emerging talent discovery for [our] UK subscribers’.

The move will see the integration of official UK sales and streams for artists discovered through the Instrumental platform.

Instrumental’s music scouting technology, which was recently featured in the Financial Times’ Weekend magazine, monitors billions of data points each day to deliver real time intelligence on emerging artists to A&R and talent scouting teams in the music and entertainment industry.

The company recently raised over $4m in order to propel an “aggressive growth plan”.

The platform counts all three major record companies – as well as a range of independent labels and entertainment industry heavyweights such as Live Nation – among its clients.

“Integrating the OCC allows us to add another level of credibility to those results through verified sales and streaming information across all digital platforms and physical outlets.”

“Integrating the OCC allows us to add another level of credibility to those results through verified sales and streaming information across all digital platforms and physical outlets.”

Official Charts Online tracks 99% of music consumption within the UK market and is one of the most sophisticated chart reporting systems in the world.
