Apple Music Hall, announced on Tuesday (September 22), holds 600 people.
Artists who play the room can leave with a Spatial Audio recording, a mix ready for broadcast, and multicamera video of the same show.
“Apple’s deep love for music dates all the way back to the very beginning, from the launch of the iPod to the long-running iTunes Music Festival to the debut of Apple Music,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and International Content.
“Today, with the opening of Apple Music Hall, we are once again taking an unprecedented step further in our commitment to artists and fans by supporting live music in ways only Apple can do.”

The stage measures 38 feet across and can be set for front-facing shows or for performances staged in the round.
A spatial sound system of 48 speakers surrounds the audience.
Behind the stage sit two recording and mix studios, where a performance can be captured as a multitrack recording and mixed in Spatial Audio, either live or later.
The building is wired for 16 or more cameras feeding a broadcast control room, with iPhone capture able to run alongside the broadcast cameras.
Shows at Apple Music Hall will also be livestreamed globally.
The room borrows from the power station around it, with brickwork, fluted arches, and bronze balconies, plus a glass wall looking onto the concourse and the River Thames.
“At Apple Music, we care deeply about music, the artists who make it, and their life stories,” said Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1.
“We’re always looking for new opportunities to connect the artists and the fans because we are fans. What better way to celebrate this relationship than a new music venue where we get to experience amazing music in an amazing space and share it with the world. Great music and memories will be made at Apple Music Hall.”

“This is a huge vote of confidence in the UK as a global creative powerhouse,” said UK Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy. “When a company of Apple’s scale backs British music and talent, it’s a signal of just how strong our creative sectors really are.
“Our industrial strategy is all about making Britain one of the best places in the world to invest, and the creative industries are a key part of that. These sectors are not only a source of immense national pride, but they also deliver real economic value for the country.”

Nandy launched the UK government’s music strategy, Turn It Up: Our Plan for Music, on July 13, with a £15 million injection from Arts Council England that took the government’s Music Growth Package to GBP £45 million (USD $60.3m) over three years.
The UK’s music industry contributed a record £8 billion ($10.7bn) to the economy in 2024 and supported 220,000 jobs, according to UK Music.
Apple ran an annual London concert series for a decade, first as the iTunes Festival and later as the Apple Music Festival, held at Camden’s Roundhouse from 2009.
The company confirmed to MBW in 2017 that it would not stage the event again, after a run whose performers included Adele, Oasis, and Kendrick Lamar.
Apple opened its UK headquarters inside Battersea Power Station in 2023, taking six floors and more than 500,000 square feet.
