Apple Music is expanding its Lyrics Translation feature to seven new language pairings.

The expansion is part of the software features Apple unveiled on Tuesday (June 9), which arrive as part of the iOS 27 update this fall.

Apple said Lyrics Translation will add pairings spanning English to French, English to German, English to Italian, English to Korean, English to Spanish, French to English, and Japanese to English.

The feature lets Apple Music subscribers read translated lyrics for tracks recorded in languages other than their own.

Apple said: “Using machine learning to translate the lyrics – with fine-tuning from language experts – Lyrics Translation ensures that the true emotion, cultural nuance, and original lyrical intent of every song is preserved.”

Apple Music‘s Lyrics Pronunciation tool, which helps users sing along to songs in languages they do not speak, will add five new pairings.

Those cover Arabic to Romanized Arabic, English to Hangul, English to Katakana, Japanese to Hangul, and Mandarin Chinese (simplified) to Katakana.

Apple is also updating AutoMix, the feature that transitions between songs like a DJ.

Apple said AutoMix “has added a whole new layer of energy and excitement to the experience with even better transitions that feel more immersive and engaging for listeners.”

AutoMix will also become available on Apple Music in tvOS and on HomePod.

Apple Music is bringing Hi-Res Lossless Audio to tvOS, in addition to standard Lossless Audio.

Subscribers with compatible external speaker outputs will be able to stream in the format through Apple TV 4K, according to the company.

The features are built on a set of Apple Music tools first introduced at WWDC 2025 as part of the iOS 26 update.

Lyrics Translation launched last year with six pairings, including English to Chinese, English to Japanese, and Spanish to English.

AutoMix also debuted at WWDC 2025, when Apple positioned it as a rival to Spotify‘s AI DJ feature, which launched in February 2023.

At the time, Apple said: “AutoMix uses intelligence to transition from one song to the next like a DJ, using time stretching and beat matching to seamlessly move from one song to the next.”

The updates arrive as Apple Music continues to add features in its competition with Spotify and Amazon Music for streaming subscribers.

In March, Apple Music introduced AI transparency tags that labels and distributors can apply to flag AI-generated content.

“We’re excited to bring powerful new features and intelligence to hundreds of millions of users across Apple services, making their experiences even more useful and fun.”

The new Apple Music features were available for testing via the Apple Developer Program from Tuesday (June 9), with a public beta to follow next month, according to the company.

“We’re excited to bring powerful new features and intelligence to hundreds of millions of users across Apple services, making their experiences even more useful and fun,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services and Health.Music Business Worldwide
