Apple Music launches on PS5 gaming console

Apple Music is launching on Sony‘s PS5 gaming console.

Starting this week, PS5 users with an Apple Music subscription will have access to the music streaming service’s 90 million songs catalog via their console.

Apple rival Spotify launched on Playstation back in 2015.

Gamers will now be able to access curated Apple Music playlists, music videos in 4K, Apple Music Radio and personalized playlists on the PS5 console.

Playstation says it offers “seamless integration” with the Apple Music streaming service with background music and music video playback, allowing players to listen before, during, or after gameplay session.

Apple Music subscribers can also find recommendations that reflect the games they are playing, or choose from a playlist in their library or other Apple Music-curated playlists for gaming.

Meanwhile, Apple Music subscribers can also find and watch music videos from artists in the Apple Music app.

Apple Music is launching on PS5 in 69 territories, including the US, the UK, China, Russia and South Africa.

“For those of you who love listening to music in addition to playing games, we are pleased to announce that Apple Music is launching on PS5.”
