Ankur Patel named Chief Business Officer at Venice Music

Ankur Patel has joined music and tech platform Venice Music as its Chief Business Officer.

At Venice, co-founded by Troy Carter and Suzy Ryoo, Patel will focus on driving the company’s sustainable growth and scale strategy as it aims to accelerate towards a new model for the independent music ecosystem, says Venice.

Prior to joining Venice, Patel was an executive at music technology company Splice, most recently serving as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, overseeing M&A, commercial partnerships, and internal strategy.

During his time there, Patel helped spearhead nine acquisitions, bringing in-house creators, music catalogs, and technologists to Splice’s subscription business and technology portfolio.

He also helped strike strategic partnerships with the likes of Adobe, TikTok, and Spotify-owned Soundtrap.

Patel joins a growing list of recent executive hires at Venice.

 

In February, Beth Cherry joined the company as its Head of Streaming, UK.

Isobel Kelly also joined as Head of Alt/Pop Streaming US, while Jamal Jimoh was named Head of Hip Hop/R&B Streaming (US).
