André de Raaff’s CTM signs European publishing deal with PULSE

Earlier this year, André de Raaff pulled off one of the music business’s biggest deals of the modern era when he sold Imagem to Concord Music for more than $500m.

But the Dutchman isn’t leaving music publishing behind.

de Raaff is also CEO and owner of his own Netherlands-based independent music rights company, CTM, which has just inked an important new deal.

Fast-growing US publishing company PULSE has signed an exclusive European sub-publishing deal with CTM.

PULSE’s track roster this year includes tracks from Camila Cabello, Justin Bieber & BloodPop, French Montana, Maroon 5, Calvin Harris, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee, Sean Paul, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles.

Scott Cutler, CEO of Pulse said: “Having worked closely with André for the last several years it was very obvious he would be the right partner to handle this expanded role. Multi-territory licensing has become increasingly important particularly given the platform that streaming services have given areas of repertoire that have not historically done as well in European markets.

“Having CTM at the helm in Europe, in cooperation with IMPEL for pan-European digital licensing and Mary Jo Mennella’s Music Asset Management for the US, puts us in the best position to secure the best result for our writers.”

André de Raaff and CTM MD Jitze de Raaff said in a joint statement: “We have been looking after the publishing interests of Pulse in European markets like Scandinavia, Benelux and in the GSA territories in the past years already and because of this we have been following the enormous growth of quality and successes in the Pulse catalogues under the fantastic leadership of Scott and his partners and teams.

“We are happy that we have been able to contribute to their growth in the above territories, also because of the many synchs we have been able to obtain on well-known but also on lesser known copyrights.

“CTM is honoured that Pulse, together with Mary Jo, have decided to extend our relationship and also expand now for the whole of Europe, including UK and we are looking forward to continuing our success in Europe with their writers and copyrights also in the additional countries, whereby we will also focus heavily on increasing their income for online sales.”Music Business Worldwide
