Amy Wheatley upped to Managing Director at Ministry of Sound, Negla Abdela promoted to General Manager

Sony Music UK has promoted Amy Wheatley to Managing Director and Negla Abdela to General Manager at Ministry of Sound.

Both executives will report to Dipesh Parmar, President of Ministry of Sound.

Wheatley joined Ministry of Sound in 2017 as General Manager and has worked closely with Parmar who was promoted to President in June 2020, to oversee the labels accelerated growth, expansion of the roster and the integration of playlisting and compilations within the frontline label.

Negla started at Ministry of Sound in 2015 as a Social Media Channel Manager before being promoted to Head of Digital in 2018.

She has led the digital strategy across the label’s diverse roster as well as the prominent Ministry of Sound playlist brand.

Ministry of Sound achieved success last year with hits including SAINt JHN’s Roses, which was the third biggest selling single of 2020, Regard’s double-platinum Ride It and follow up record Secrets, Doja Cat’s Say So, Paul Woolford & Diplo’s Looking For Me, Sigala and James Arthur’s Lasting Lover and Tate Mcrae’s You Broke Me First.

Together, they have also helped to deliver multi-platinum selling campaigns for Sigala, Marshmello, Riton x Oliver Heldens and London Grammar, who achieved their first No.1 album at the label with Truth Is A Beautiful Thing.
