Amazon Music is flying, with over 55m global ‘customers’ of the service’s various tiers confirmed in January – including an estimated subscriber count of approximately 50m, up 16m year-on-year.

Today (March 9), we see more evidence of Amazon‘s growing presence in the world of streaming music. The company has announced that it has hired veteran music industry executive Kirdis Postelle as its Global Head of Artist Marketing.

Postelle reports to Ryan Redington, Director of Amazon Music, in the newly-created position.

Postelle , who has more than 25 years of experience in the music industry, joins Amazon from HITCO Entertainment, where she was EVP and General Manager.

At Amazon Music, she will lead the artist marketing team globally, working closely with emerging and established artists, managers, and labels.

Postelle will be based in Amazon’s LA office.

“There’s an incredible opportunity within Amazon Music to create massive, cross-function campaigns for established and developing artists, while continuing to work with management teams and record labels on new and innovative ways to help expand an artist’s audience.”
